Chargemaster to install 150 charging points in Lancashire

Chargemaster, the UK’s largest provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, will install 150 new charging points across Lancashire, following a successful bid by Lancashire County Council to the Department for Transport’s Highway Maintenance Challenge Fund.

Chargemaster wins contract for Nottingham Go Ultra Low City infrastructure

Chargemaster, the UK’s largest provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has won a contract to install and operate charging points in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Derby over the next three years, as part of Nottingham’s Go Ultra Low City status.

The three-year, £2m contract with Nottingham City Council will see Chargemaster install around 230 charging points to support the growing number of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the roads. At least 11 sites are set to be installed in Nottingham within six months, including at park-and-ride sites close to major routes.

200,000 electric cars on UK roads by the end of 2018

  • Electric car registrations rose by nearly 50% last month compared to 2016
  • Seventh consecutive monthly fall for diesel registrations, down by 30% in October

As diesel car registrations continue to decline, the electric vehicle market in the UK is expanding rapidly, and Chargemaster estimates that there will be 200,000 electric cars on UK roads by the end of next year.

The POLAR public electric vehicle charging network, operated by Chargemaster, now has more rapid chargers than any other network in the UK, with the installation of its 300th rapid charging point at the Best Western Garden Court Aylesbury hotel in Buckinghamshire. Q-Park offers discounts for electric vehicle drivers on POLAR network
